02/14/23 Membership Meeting

At the membership meeting on 02/14/23, the membership present voted to accept all new applicants for membership at The Tiffin Moose.

IN THE MATTER OF, CHANGE IN SENDING OFFICIAL & UNOFFICIAL COMMUNICATION
The board of officers has unanimously voted to conduct all official and unofficial communication with members electronically going forward. We realize that some members do not have email or Facebook, but with the ever-rising cost of postage, sending USPS mail to our approx. 900 members can cost the lodge $500 or more per mailing.  The board proposes that the membership adopt a policy that all important and/or official communications with member be conducted either via Facebook posts, text messages, or email depending on the information being shared.

The matter was sent to the floor for discussion.  The membership discussed this proposal and asked questions.  When discussion was completed, the President called for a vote.

KEN BOES made a motion to conduct all future lodge communications, both official and non-official, via electronic media (Facebook, Email, Text Message, Digital Signage) effective immediately.   LINDA MYGRANT seconded the motion.  The motion PASSED with all members present voting in the affirmative.

IN THE MATTER OF, 2023 MOOSE INTERNATIONAL CONVENTION
The board of officers has previously voted in the affirmative for Trustee, TODD HILL to represent the lodge along with Administrator, JOSH SCHOOLEY at the 2023 International Convention in Reno, NV, June 19-23, 2023. The membership must vote to elect TODD HILL to represent the lodge in lieu of the lodge president.

It was unanimously determined by the membership that Due to TODD HILL and JOSH SCHOOLEY’s tireless and ongoing work at the lodge, that HILL and MR. SCHOOLEY are the most appropriate choices to represent The Tiffin Moose, Lodge #846 at the 2023 Moose International Convention.  All travel, lodging and food expenses will be paid directly by the lodge or reimbursed to JOSH SCHOOLEY or TODD HILL upon submission of receipts, if necessary.

SHIRLEY BOES made a motion to accept TODD HILL as the alternate representative for the lodge president at the 2023 Moose International Convention and that all expenses related to this trip for both TODD HILL and JOSH SCHOOLEY will be paid by the lodge.  DELRAY FOX seconded the motion.  The motion PASSED with all members present voting in the affirmative.
